Updates & Changes - Where to Find Us, Shop Updates, and Saturday Sketch & Chat
Hello folks, just wanted to update everyone on some changes that are happening here.
Where to Find Us
I know this website and blog hasn't been updated often, and that's changing. We've primarily updated folks about shop hours and events via Facebook, but we are moving away from Facebook and Instagram.
The social media platforms the shop can currently be found on are Bluesky, Mastodon, Reddit, and Tumblr.
Whenever I need to close the shop, whether for special events or personal matters, I’ll update our hours on the front page of the Coming Up Violets website, as well as posting on our Bluesky profile and in the Mentone Neighbor To Neighbor Subreddit.
If you use MeWe, I've also created a Mentone Neighbor To Neighbor group there!
Saturday Sketch & Chat Event
I am excited to announce our new Saturday tradition: a Sketch & Chat gathering at the shop every Saturday from 1 PM to 3 PM!
This event will be a relaxed get-together where folks can come to doodle, sketch, paint, chat and share ideas and advice. Whether you’re a seasoned artist, just curious about drawing, or just want to hang out, everyone's welcome.
Did You Know We Are On Poshmark Too?
You may know that in addition to handmade art & gifts made by local artists, we also carry a nice selection of secondhand & vintage clothing for men, women and children. For those who aren't local, those items can also be purchased online by clicking the SHOP tab here on the website, but most are also available on Poshmark, so you can choose which shopping method works best for you! Please note that the prices and shipping prices will differ between the shop, website and Poshmark and this is due to various factors like the differing shipping and fee structures between the online platforms.

Artists & Crafters Wanted!
We are always looking for local or regional artists who would like to show and/or sell their work here at the shop! Do you or someone you know create visual art, crafts such as textile art, write books or record music?
Maybe you're interested in selling your work in a local shop and online.
Maybe you're interested in having your artwork featured in a gallery opening at a small local gallery.
Maybe you'd like to teach a class, but you don't have a space in which to do that.
